Brandon Smith

Brandon Smith brings a steadfast commitment to service and a strong sense of duty to his family law practice, shaped by his experience as a military combat veteran and former corrections officer. A native of Connecticut, Brandon served in Operation Enduring Freedom and later worked for the Massachusetts Department of Corrections before returning home to pursue his legal education. He earned his Juris Doctor from Quinnipiac University School of Law in 2022.

Brandon began his legal career as a family law associate at Balter Law, LLC, where he gained hands-on experience representing clients in divorce, custody, and support matters. He now joins Happy Even After Family Law with a continued dedication to guiding families through complex and emotionally challenging transitions.

Known for his diligence, organization, and calm under pressure, Brandon’s approach to advocacy is grounded in integrity, empathy, and practical problem-solving. As a family man himself, he understands the personal toll of family disputes and works to ensure that each client feels supported and empowered throughout the legal process.

Brandon is admitted to practice in Connecticut and is an active member of the Connecticut Bar Association. He continues to pursue professional development in alternative dispute resolution and collaborative divorce practices.

Outside the office, Brandon enjoys spending quality time with his wife and young children, as well as caring for his backyard flock—a nod to his appreciation for nature, balance, and homegrown simplicity.
