Your Initial Consultation
Speak with a Connecticut Divorce Attorney Today
At your initial consultation, you will sit down with one of our Connecticut divorce attorneys to discuss the issues most important to you pertaining to a potential divorce, an ongoing divorce case, a child custody issue, financial disputes in your divorce, or other family law matters. Our attorney will provide you with choices, possible alternatives, and solutions to your problem, along with an opinion of your chances of success given each particular course of action. At Happy Ever Afterwe pride ourselves on providing honest assessments of your situation.
What to Expect at Your First Consultation
If you have reached the point where you are considering contacting a family law attorney, you are probably experiencing an emotional and stressful time in your life. Though it will be difficult, you need to sort your emotions out from the facts in order to proceed. Even in family law matters, the court will use a rational, business-like approach, regardless of how upset or emotionally vulnerable you may be at the time.
Many people are surprised by what they learn during an initial consultation because they don't anticipate all the factors that may affect the likelihood of achieving a successful outcome. How could they? An experienced family attorney, on the other hand, is trained to apply the law to your particular situation and to work with you to get the best results possible. It is important for you to be forthcoming and honest. If your attorney does not know all the facts, she cannot be as effective as possible.
Asking Your Questions Is Important
Make a list so you don't forget to ask the things that really matter to you. The adage, "There are no dumb questions," is true. Your attorney does not expect you to understand all of the issues or legal terms, and we will do our best to avoid complicated nomenclature. If you don't know the meaning of a legal term or any legal procedure, ask for clarification. You need to understand everything that is going on so you can make the best decisions possible. Contact us at Happy Ever Afternow to discuss all of your legal needs.
