When Deb speaks, people listen.
Deb Kern has been a Family Relations Counselor for the past 25 years mediating and negotiating thousands of cases.
In that role, she wrote comprehensive evaluations, issue focused evaluations, and testified on cases.
Before working for Family Services, she was a Court Appointed Special Advocate at Juvenile Court working with abused and neglected children making recommendations in their best interest.
She completed the State GAL training but it’s her on-the-job experience that has earned her the utmost respect among lawyers as a professional who can help even the highest conflict cases reach a resolution.
After retirement for the state, she was not ready to give up the work that she finds so rewarding so she joined Happy Even After Family Law as a mediator with a particular emphasis on helping attorneys and their clients reach a parenting plan.
Deb’s career has always been child-focused, as an Assistant Director at Big Brother/Big Sisters, a kindergarten teacher, and a daycare director prior to the work she did in the courts.
Deb boasts a 39-year marriage where she has 3 married daughters and 7 grandchildren.
When she isn’t helping parents reach an agreement, she is bobbing in the water on her boat drinking wine.
